We hiked these beautiful falls in Pisgah National Forest near Newland, NC on 7/11/2021. The trail parking area is located off Highway 181. It is a short 1.5 mile trail but it contains a number of switchbacks and does get rather steep in some parts. I would label it as moderate. We hiked to the lower falls first. Saw several people frolicking in the water. The water pools into a natural swimming hole. People were sliding off the rocks into the pool. We hiked to the spectacular upper falls afterwards. The upper Falls drop 80 feet across the gorge. It is beautiful.
