The flowering bridge celebrated its 10th anniversary in October 2023. It’s a scenic attraction in Lake Lure, NC. Visitors are greeted with thirty flowering gardens on a 155ft bridge with Chimney Rock on one side and a tranquil river on the other.
Back in 2013, a group of volunteers turned a three-arch decommissioned, historic bridge into a colorful public garden blooming with a variety of flowers year-round. It is a lovely (and free) stop when in the area. Places like this are magical, they fill the spirit with wonder, even on a rainy July day in 2024. Bright murals add to the blooming beauty around. I enjoyed exploring the different gardens, each charming with unique touches and embellished with cute trinkets. I especially appreciated the thoughtful rainbow bridge garden, where tags and collars are left in memory of departed pets. Make sure to add the Flowering Bridge to your NC travel plan and bring a camera.
