Palmetto Trail: Wateree Passage & Poinsett State Park, SC

Poinsett State park has a lot to offer. It has a large trail system that includes the starting points of two passages of the Palmetto Trail: The Wateree passage and the High Hills of Santee. The photos below are from at least three different hikes ending or starting at Poinsett. I highly recommend this park as it offers varied terrains with hills, water, waterfalls, swamps. One can also rent kayaks or canoes and paddle the pond. The park has some historical features as the land used to house a mill. Every time I went there, I almost always ran into a boy scout troupe or two. It is quite popular.
