The Palmetto Trail was established in 1994 with a goal to provide 500 miles of trails for hiking or biking across the state of South Carolina. 350 miles are already finished. Peak To Prosperity is a beautiful passage not too far from the midlands. It is very scenic at the trail head as it crossed over the river. Then you will walk over what used to be the train railroad track for miles and miles. I have hiked it at least 4 times, usually cover 3-4 miles before turning around.
