Located in the South Cumberland recreation area south of Sewanee, the natural bridge is a 25ft sandstone scenic structure with a span of 50ft located in a beautifully wooded area. It is a short 5-minute walk down a few steps from the parking area. We saw a mama bird fiercely watching over a nest she built in the rock. I wasn’t sure if baby birds were in the nest as it was a bit too high so I positioned my phone to blindly take a photo of the nest and sure enough there were baby birds in there. This area is not very big but it is an interesting stop when in the area.
