It’s only a 3 mile hike to the spectacular Greeter falls in Tennessee. South Cumberland State park offers popular hikes with many rewards including suspension bridges, critters, mushrooms, a spiral staircase, and of course waterfalls. We hiked to the spectacular upper Greeter falls (50 ft.), lower Greeter Falls (15 ft.), Broadtree Falls (30 ft.) and blue hole on September 26, 2020. The hike to Greeter is somewhat tricky but moderate overall. Don’t make our mistake and hike directly from Greeter to Broadtree Falls. That trail is very rocky and technical. After Greeter, go back to the kiosk and take the trail to the left toward Broadtree Falls following the sign. This is rather easy and allows you to see Braodtree though the trees. If you want to hike down to the bottom, the short trail gets tricky once again. I definitely recommend hiking poles and boots.
