Savage Falls at South Cumberland State Park, TN

South Cumberland State Park consists of 10 units over 100 square miles. We visited Savage Falls on 9/26/2020. It is located in the Savage Gulf Ranger Station unit in Palmer, TN. The hike was about 3 miles of easy terrain. The trail is well marked and well traversed. After stopping to let a black snake wither by, I could not withhold a scream as I almost stepped on its cousin. After this incident, the rest of the hike was event-free. I enjoyed crossing the two suspension bridges, observing mushrooms and wildflowers and most especially watching the fall and cascades.
