We hiked Bagley Loop Trail to the upper section of the Chain Lakes Trail Loop on August 17th, 2023. We started at Heather Meadows visitor center in Mt Baker Wilderness heading counterclockwise. We hiked until reaching around Herman Saddle then turned around for a 5-mile total hike. This section of the trail offers breathtaking views: Table Mountain, Mt. Herman, Goat Mountain, Upper and lower Bagley Lake, wildflowers, meadows, lava rocks … It was a beautiful day and a beautiful hike. The lake waters shimmered under the sun rays. This section is easy to moderate. I highly recommend it for the picturesque views.
