Sandstone Falls, WV

In October 2021, my husband and I drove first to Sandstone Falls overlook then made our way to the boardwalk overlooking the falls. The overlook offers a view of the Falls from 600ft. Route 20 is so picturesque! We stopped often to snap photos of the town of Hinton, the river, the mountains. West Virginia is so beautiful!

Sandstone Falls are the widest in the New River Gorge Park, 1500ft. The falls drop 10 to 25ft. According to the park’s web site “The falls form the dramatic starting line for the New Rivers final rush through the New River Gorge to its confluence with the Gauley River to form the Kanawha River.”
