I took the day off and drove upstate to hike this gorgeous and popular waterfall in Walhalla, South Carolina. I was lucky to be met by six ladies from Girls Who Hike, SC midday on Friday July 2nd, 2021. The trail was slightly moderate (as in not-flat) but quite easy. There was a recently downed tree but no problem getting around it or rather under it. The forest was a beautiful green. It had been raining for a couple of days and that morning, perfect weather to visit a waterfall. I was warned that this trail was very popular, that I needed to get there before 9:30am to secure a parking spot. There was nobody in the parking lot when we reached it midday, likely because of the rain and lucky for us. There were a couple of easy water crossings where we hopped on rocks. I wore my rain boots but none of us got wet. It is a short 3 miles out and back. It was a humid day and the mushrooms were out in force. I will dedicate a section for them below, such a variety! We also saw beautiful wild flowers, the rhododendron were especially pretty. We truly enjoyed our hike. Thanks ladies for joining me.

This is one of my favorite waterfalls. We did it a couple weeks ago in the late afternoon and the lighting was exquisite. Your photos are excellent as always! Thanks for taking me there through your lens.
