Grand Marais is a beautiful, small city on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It was inhabited by the indigenous Ojibwe before being settled by French Canadian. Its population is 1,340. In the 1700, the area was bustling with fur trading. Today, it is known for its art culture, hiking, biking, fishing, dining… We spent one night there in a charming Airbnb and had a wonderful dinner at a seafood restaurant on the water which is where the photos below were taken. The next day we hiked on the Superior Hiking Trail.
