Our group visited Spearfish Canyon area on 6/6/2022. Such beautiful country! We hiked two short trails, one leading to Spearfish Falls and the other to Roughlock Falls. Both were short, easy and seem quite popular. Roughlock trail is 2 miles out and back. The falls split and cascade over 50ft alongside the trail. You’ll pass a stunning meadow traversed by spearfish creek and surrounded by cool rock formations. Spearfish Falls trail descends into the canyon meandering by the creek. It is only about 1.5 mile out and back and it is beautiful. I can describe the stunning beauty of this place with so many words, I hope dear reader you will get to experience it firsthand.
