Santee National Wildlife Refuge, SC

My first visit to this refuge. You know you are in for a beautiful visit as soon as you drive over lake Marion. When I reached the visitor center was closed due to Covid but I enjoyed visiting its grounds where the rangers had planted a variety of flowers. I saw turtles swimming in the lake next to the center. After that I headed over to see the Indian mound. I parked there and hiked the beautiful nature trail with swamp views.

  1. So many flowers in bloom and the wildlife actually showed itself! Terrific pictures – details so colorful and clear.
