Letchworth State Park, NY

Likely the most scenic State Park I visited in upstate New York; Letchworth offers three large waterfalls, over 60 miles of hiking trails and a number of summer and winter activities. The park is large, over 14,000 acres along the Genessee River. It is located southwest of Rochester, NY. The gorge is deep, 550 ft in certain sections. We visited in October 2023. Fall had arrived, adorning photos with its colorful foliage. Despite the rain, the park was very busy. I walked the southern section of the park along the gorge’s rim stopping to take pictures of the lower, middle and upper waterfalls. The middle fall being the largest. I clocked about 4 miles one way. The trail was easy except for some steps. If you visit, and I highly recommend you do, be aware that cellular signal within the park is spotty at best. I suggest you download any map or directions to avoid getting lost. Make sure to check out the video I uploaded to the bottom of this blog. Happy hiking!
