I stopped by the Savannah Rapids park in Augusta, GA on Saturday 1/26/2021 after a day of hiking in the Aiken, SC area. It’s just across the border from South Carolina. It was almost sunset and the colors were beautiful. The park is set along the Augusta Canal and Reed creek waterfall. The canal is a National Heritage Area built in 1845. There are two trails: the Augusta canal trail and the Savannah Rapids trail. There is also a kayak rental place. It’s a popular park, I saw bicyclists, joggers, hikers enjoying the beautiful day as well as three photographers busy with photoshoots. I don’t blame them, the scenery is simply beautiful for all of these activities.
