On 6/14/2020 I visited this gem of a garden in the middle of the city of Orangeburg. I have lived in South Carolina since 1983 and had not heard of this amazing place.
The city of Orangeburg celebrates the festival of roses in May. It was canceled this year due to Covid-19. The roses however did not know this, so they bloomed beautifully as you will see in the photos below.
The park is really beautiful. I enjoyed walking on its newly renovated boardwalks over swampy, black water. There are huge trees and the grounds are very well maintained. The bathrooms were closed. It is definitely a place I intend to revisit.
