Spoonager Falls, SC

We hiked the short trail to Spoonager Falls on 11/11/2021. I enjoyed being immersed in fall colors as I made my way to the fall on the 0.6 mile trail off Burells Ford rd near Mountain Rest in upstate SC. The trail is well maintained and easy but must be careful around tree roots. It starts out wide and flat as it meanders along the Chattooga River for a short while before narrowing as it heads up toward the fall. We crossed over a small creek, I found my hiking stick helpful in this section. You will first encounter a small waterfall don’t stop there continue to follow the trail until you see a sign to Spoonager pointing to the right. It was a foggy rainy day but that did not take away from the area’s intense scenic beauty.
