We visited this beautiful 829 acre GA park on 5/21/2021. We stopped at the visitor center and picked up a map to the waterfalls. Established in 1940, the park’s main attraction is the 729 ft. waterfall. The park was named after a Cherokee word meaning tumbling waters. We hiked part of the trail until reaching the fall. We walked back on the main road until reaching the entrance to the Apalachian trail. The 8 mile Approach Trail to Springer Mountain starts there. The Apalachian Trail is a 2,293 miles trail from Georgia to Maine.
