NC Arboretum was a beautiful place to spend part of our day on September 15, 2020. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, the arboretum offered a peaceful escape filled with gardens, colorful flowers, water features, and winding paths.

The 17-acre park is divided into several unique sections, each offering something different to discover. We enjoyed strolling through the shade garden, meditation garden, conifer collection, and water features, taking our time to appreciate the variety of plants and landscapes.
One of my favorite areas featured arbors covered with climbing flowers. The combination of flowers, greenery, and thoughtfully designed gardens made the walk especially enjoyable and provided plenty of opportunities for photographs.

But the highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the magnificent 23-foot wind chime. We happened to visit on a breezy day, and the wind was moving through the chime, creating beautiful, enchanting melodies. Standing nearby and listening to the deep, soothing sounds was one of those simple travel moments that stays with you.
The arboretum offered a wonderful combination of nature, gardens, and peaceful spaces. Whether you’re interested in plants and gardening, looking for a quiet place to stroll, or simply want to enjoy beautiful scenery, it’s an enjoyable stop in Asheville.

I especially appreciated that we didn’t need to rush from one attraction to another. We could wander through the different sections, pause by the water features, admire the flowers, and simply enjoy being surrounded by nature.
If you’re visiting Asheville and enjoy gardens, photography, and peaceful outdoor spaces, the NC Arboretum is a lovely place to add to your itinerary.
