Every year, I drive three hours to Longcreek, SC to visit the beautiful Chattooga Belle Farm. I make sure to arrive in time to have a delicious lunch at Belle’s Bistro, preferably outside overlooking the gorgeous view of mountains and vineyards. They serve great tasting lunches made with organic ingredients. Then I grab a basket from the Farm store and head over to the Farm to pick my one of my favorite fruits persimmons. I take lots of photos and the trip concludes by selecting a couple of delicious bottles of wine from the store before heading back home.
The farm can be rented for special events. It’s a perfect place for wedding or photography. They grow several types of fruits: apples, figs, muscadine, blackberries, blueberries etc. Check their web site for the season and operating hours. It has become a yearly pilgrimage of sorts. I try to take my mother with me as we both enjoy this trip. Take a look at the gallery of photos and I’m sure you’re going to want to visit as well.
