About Me

I graduated from the University of South Carolina (USC) with a master’s degree in engineering, Electrical & Computer. I raised my two boys -now young men, in Columbia, SC.

After a 35-year career in software engineering that included two US Patents, I decided my turn has come to dedicate my time to my passions namely travel and photography with a sprinkle of homemade delicacies.

I ‘ve always liked photography, becoming more serious about it after my children gained their independence. I took an online course, followed by another at USC’s Continuing Education before Covid put a stop to in-person classes. I love hiking. Armed with what I learned; I began hiking with camera capturing one beautiful scene after another. I enjoy cooking for my family, so I added food to landscape photography. Soon I had taken thousands of photos, learned editing in Lightroom and started this blog to share my adventure photos.

I believe beauty is all around waiting on us to open our eyes and notice it. My objective is to freeze the splendor I see, and through my lens, avail it for all to enjoy. It is my sincere hope that my work adds a dash of wonder, beauty and awe to your world. Welcome to my adventures!

My first book A Glimpse Into My Life: A collection of Micro-Memoirs is an easy, enjoyable read as evidenced by the reviews it has received on Amazon. It can be ordered at any major bookstore in addition to Amazon.

It is a micro-memoir composed of eight short stories highlighting growing up in Lebanon, immigrating to the US, raising my children as a single mother, and praising my parents, grandparents. It will make you smile, may even force a tear or two or trigger a memory. It demonstrates how a heart that loves will not be forgotten and that at the end of every dark tunnel, there is a light -if one looks for it.

In 2019 I set out to visit all forty seven South Carolina state parks, an accomplishment that earned me the Ultimate Outsider title which I am quite proud of. There are more State parks in South Carolina now, I hope to visit the new ones as soon as they open.

I was honored in November, 2020 to be one of Columbia Photo Challenge winners.
