Anne Springs Close Greenway 2022, SC

We hiked at Anne Springs Close Greenway on cold Saturday January 8, 2022 . This was a family hiking trip as my brother was visiting. Fall was ending so the woods were mostly bare and brown. I’d bet Spring should provide a more colorful experience. We hiked the Mill Pond trail (1.4 mile) and a portion of Prairie Loop (3.1). Ran into quite a few mountain bicyclists, two friends allowed me to photograph them (thank you!). Bicyclists and hikers share most of the trails though heading in opposite directions. Make sure to pick up a map at the entrance. We found it very helpful.

The greenway, located in Fort Mill, SC offers 36 miles of trails on 2,100 acres designated as horse trails, biking trails and/or hiking trails. Hiking entrance fees for 2022 are $12/person unless a member. They offer venues for weddings, birthdays etc., a dog park, several swinging and regular bridges, a tunnel, ponds and lakes -the largest being Lake Haigler. I noted four entrances: Lake Haigler (west), Dairy Barn (North), Advenure rd (East) and Blue Star (South East). We used the Adventure Road entrance, closest to the mill site. Check their web site below for a calendar of events if in the area, I noted sunset yoga, Italian wine dinner, tours etc.
